FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for quantitative determination of taurin and allantoin in their joint presence in various medicinal preparations, dietary supplements, cosmetic and food products by HPLC. Method involves dissolution of a substance portion in the mobile phase (MP), solution separation on a chromatographic column, measurement of the optical density of the resulting solution and determination of the concentrations of the studied substances by calibration charts. 30 mcmol/l of sodium acetate solution pH 6.0 was used as the mobile phase for taurin, and dissolution was performed at the rate of 250 mg of the substance per 10 ml with adjustment to volume with a MP solution. A mixture of a solution of ammonium hydrogen phosphate with pH 7.78 and acetonitrile 9:1 was used as a mobile phase for allantoin, and dissolution was performed at the rate of 1000 mg of the substance per 10 ml with adjustment to volume with a MP solution. For taurin, before MP solution splitting on the chromatographic column, borate buffer solution with pH of 9.0 and 0.1% solution of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene in a solution of acetonitrile-water (2:1) at a ratio of 1:1:1 is added to it, the mixture is heated, cooled to a room temperature and 1 vol. p. of 10% acetic acid and about 13 vol. p. of water was added per 6 vol. p. of mixture. Detection was carried out at wavelengths of 360±2 nm and 218±2 nm for taurin and allantoin, respectively.

EFFECT: method allows to identify and quantify taurin and allantoin in their joint presence in various medicinal preparations.
