FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and pharmacy, namely to quantitative determination of taurine and allantoin in the joint presence in dosage forms and mixtures by spectrophotometry. Method for quantitative spectrophotometric determination of taurine and allantoin in the joint presence of a gel in the drug form consists in two different sample preparations with a gel, measurement of optical density of the solutions obtained and determination of the concentration of the substances under study from calibration graphs, and for quantitative determination of taurine to an aqueous gel solution, obtained from 100 ml of 1.875 g of gel and adjusting the volume with water, add 0.1 % alcohol solution of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene and phosphate buffer solution with pH = 9.18 in a volume ratio of 1:1:1, resulting mixture is heated, diluted in ratio of a mixture : water 3:7, and the optical density is measured at a wavelength of 359±2 nm; and for quantitative determination of allantoin, a gel solution in 0.5 M sodium hydroxide, obtained by calculating 100 ml of 0.2 g of gel and adjusting the volume with sodium hydroxide, is diluted in a ratio 1:9 with 0.5 M sodium hydroxide solution, and the optical density is measured at wavelength of 218±2 nm.

EFFECT: method for quantitative spectrophotometric determination of taurine and allantoin is proposed.
