SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the banknotes processing with their recognition based on the accumulation of dust in a sorter and a sorter. In the method, the region boundary is determined by using a gray scale difference between the foreground and the background of the image sensor signal, edge of the signal features of different sensors is searched, the direction of detection is measured and scanned for the second time, the effective boundary of the image area is moved, so that the speed of detection and the accuracy of the sorter recognition can be greatly improved. Recognition module (135) comprises two sets of CIS image sensors (1351) arranged oppositely, two sets of light-transmitting plates (1352) arranged oppositely, storage module, detection module, and display module.
