FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: for treatment of patients with chronic pain associated with stress-induced disorders and combat brain injury, the first stage includes a standard course of therapy using (depending on the type of pain) non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and/or anticonvulsants, and the second stage, depending on the severity of clinical manifestations of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the consequences of traumatic brain injury (TBI), "Pantogam Aktiv" is introduced, namely: for patients with expressed PTSD, effects of severe TBI "Pantogam Aktiv" is prescribed at a dosage of 600 mg per day, which is divided into two parts, and with a good drug endurance dose is increased to 900 mg per day; for patients with the effects of moderate TBI, moderate PTSD, "Pantogam Aktiv" is prescribed at a dose of 900-1200 mg/day and divided into 3 admissions; for patients with effects of mild TBI and minor manifestations of PTSD, medication starts with a dose of 900 mg per day, with a good endurance for 3-4 days, the dosage is increased to 1800 mg per day, regardless of the chronic pain syndrome severity the treatment course is repeated after 3-4 months with treatment effectiveness control 21 days and 12 months after its start, based on the data of a visual-analogue scale.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce the intensity or relieve chronic pain syndromes due to the consequent stepwise effect on the links of the pathological system, post-traumatic stress disorder and chronic pain.
