FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: samples of bioindicators are taken, dried to a constant weight, an average sample is extracted and the content of total Sr and Ca is determined by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Sampling is carried out during growing season. The obtained result is compared with the established ranges of the Ca:Sr ratio values in the air-dry mass of medium patches of herbaceous vegetation, according to which the ecological status of the territory is determined. At Ca:Sr ratio values of more than 400, the territory status is considered relatively favourable, at values values of 150-400 the territory status status is risky, and at values below 150 the territory status is crisis.
EFFECT: invention provides rapid assessment of new areas and obtaining of representative data on the general state of the environment both for a relatively large region as a whole and for local agrocenosis.
