FIELD: data transmission.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for transmitting user input data from a wireless recipient device to a wireless source device. Method comprises: displaying by the receiver wireless device (WD) of video data received from the source WD; receipt (by recipient WD and from an external device) of user input data captured when displaying a particular frame of video data; generation (by recipient WD) of the data package header, which includes: 3-bit version field, 8-bit reserved field, 4-bit input category field, 16-bit length field and time stamp flag; generation (by recipient WD) of payload data containing the said user input data; generation (by recipient WD) of a data package comprising a data package header and payload data; and transmission (by recipient WD) of the data package to the source WD.

EFFECT: technical result is the enabling of a user of a wireless recipient device to control a wireless source device and manage content transmitted from the wireless source device to the wireless recipient device.
