SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, namely to production of proppant used in production of oil and gas by hydraulic fracturing method. In the method for producing proppant used in production of oil and gas by hydraulic fracturing, including preliminary heat treatment of the feedstock, its grinding, granulation by adding a binder to a mixer-granulator with rotating in different directions a bowl and a rotary mixer, the rotation speed of which is increased as the binder is increased from 300–700 rpm to 2,000–3,000 rpm, adding heat-treated ground raw material to the mixer-granulator while reducing the speed of rotation of the rotary mixer to 300–700 rpm, drying at a temperature of 110–550 °C and sifting the dried granules, firing of dried granules at a temperature of 900–1,600 °C and having sieved the burnt pellets for product fractions, the rotation speed of the mixer-granulator bowl is increased as the binder is increased from 300–500 rpm to 1,000–1,200 rpm, and when heat-treated ground raw materials are added to the mixer-granulator in amount of 5.0–30.0 wt. % of the weight of the initial heat-treated raw material, the rotation speed of the granulator bowl is reduced to 300–500 rpm. Proppant, characterized in that it is obtained by the above method. Invention is developed in depending points of the formula.

EFFECT: increase the productivity of the granulator by increasing the yield of commodity fractions of proppant.
