SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology and environmental protection, and more particularly to methods for flameless combustion processing of carbonaceous wastes, in particular irradiated reactor graphite, as well as other carbonaceous radioactive waste of nuclear power plants. In the method for flameless combustion processing of radioactive carbonaceous waste when melting alkali metal carbonates in the presence of an oxidizing agent, divalent copper oxide of the formula CuO is used as an oxidizing agent and introduced into the melt in an amount of 5–50 % by weight of the melt, binary system of sodium and potassium carbonates are used as alkali metal carbonates, and the processing is carried out at a temperature of 800 to 1000 °C, while the reduced nanodispersed copper formed during the processing of graphite waste is used to produce copper oxide by oxidizing it with air oxygen for use in the processing of graphite.

EFFECT: invention makes simplifies control during the process of flameless combustion with the exception of the possibility of carrying out radioactive substances.
