FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing and loading manganese ore and/or manganese concentrate and reducing mixture into the furnace, reducing melting and nitriding. Quartzite, dolomite, coke and/or coal and waste of carbide-silicon lining of aluminium electrolyzers containing silicon nitride are used as a reducing mixture. Reducing melting and nitriding are carried out simultaneously. Wastes of carbide-silicon lining of aluminium electrolyzers containing up to 70% of silicon carbide and up to 26% of silicon nitride are used. The charge contains, wt %: manganese ore and/or manganese concentrate 54.1-62.5; quartzite up to 9.9; coke and/or coal up to 6.8; dolomite 5.4-6.2; wastes of carbide-silicon lining 23.8-31.2.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the degree of manganese reduction in the alloy and reduce manganese content in the slag and simultaneously conduct nitriding of silico-manganese.
