SUBSTANCE: invention refers to biotechnology. Method for obtaining diatom alga Cylindrotheca closterium provides for intensive storage cultivation of Cylindrotheca closterium for 7–10 days in planar photobioreactors with a working layer thickness of 5–8 cm with round-the-clock illumination of 7–13.5 cla and a temperature of 20–22 °C on a nutrient medium RS based on sterile sea water containing NaNO3, Na2SiO3 × 9H2O, NaH2PO4 × 2H2O, Na2EDTA, FeSO4 × 7H2O, CuSO4 × 5H2O, ZnSO4 × 7H2O, CoCl2 × 6H2O, MnCl2 × 4H2O, NaMoO4 × 2H2O in a given ratio of components. At the same time, copper sulfate is used as an iron salt, and in the phase of slowing down the growth of the diatomic alga Cylindrotheca closterium, the concentration of the iron salt in the nutrient medium RS is increased in the range from 150 to 350 mg/l.

EFFECT: invention allows to increase the yield of biomass of diatom alga Cylindrotheca closterium enriched with iron.
