SUBSTANCE: method provides a storage mode of cultivation, namely the actively dividing culture of Cylindrotheca closterium diatom, taken at the linear stage of growth, with an initial density of 0.1–0.2 g of dry matter per 1 liter of culture, are cultured for 10-12 days in photobioreactors in the form of cultivators of plane-parallel type with a thickness of the illuminated layer of 5 cm, on a modified nutrient medium prepared on the basis of sterilized sea water, g⋅l-1, with the following composition: NaNO3 - 7.50, Na2SiO3×9H2O - 3.00, NaH2PO4×2H2O - 0.50, Na2EDTA - 0.872, FeSO4×7H2O - 0.63, NaMoO4×H2O - 0.063, CuSO4×5H2O - 0.1, ZnSO4×7H2O - 0.22, CoCl2×6H2O - 0.1, MnCl2×4H2O - 0.18.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the content of fucoxanthin in the biomass of Cylindrotheca closterium diatom.
