SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to thoracic surgery. Projection of the hernia defect is used to dissect the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Chest wall muscles are exposed. Muscle fibers are diluted in muscles around hernia defect. Muscles are mobilized to a hernia defect. Muscles of the thoracic wall along the perimeter from the hernia defect. Hernia sac is separated, the protrusion is inspected and eliminated. Along the perimeter of the defected muscles separated from the hernia defect, a synthetic mesh material of the required size is laid, anchored to adjacent muscles and covered with adjoining muscles, and the muscles are sutured together, covering the synthetic mesh material from above. Under the muscles and above muscles in the subcutaneous cellular tissue drainage is installed, which is discharged through the counter-apertures and connected to the vacuum aspirator.

EFFECT: method enables eliminating intercostal defect of thoracic wall, preserving soft tissues of thoracic wall and pulmonary parenchyma, creating favourable conditions for integration of synthetic prosthesis in tissue.
