SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to the treatment of spent nuclear fuel (SNF). The protective plug of the storage hub with SNF includes a body formed by upper and lower discs and a shell filled with concrete. In the cork body, there is a stepwise penetration adjacent to the shell by its lower part, equipped with a threaded choke with a cap nut. In the stepwise penetration, a stepwise protective rod is disposed therefrom, between the stages of which a sealing ring is installed. There is also a temperature sensor. The temperature sensor contains thermoelectric converters with a ceramic insulation of the conductors enclosed in the tubes with the heat receivers installed in their lower part. The upper parts of the tubes are placed in the stepwise protective casing, which is configured to be installed in the penetration of the protective plug instead of the stepwise protective rod. The lower parts of the tubes are displaced relative to the upper ones by half the annular gap between the walls of the case and the body of the hub. The distance between the heat receivers in the free state of the tubes exceeds the width of the annular gap.

EFFECT: group of inventions allows to measure the temperature of the outer wall of the case and the hub in a dry storage.
