FIELD: valves industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipe fittings, in particular to ball valves, and can be used for closing, opening and controlling flow of liquid and gaseous media in various industries. Ball valve comprises a body with inlet and outlet nozzles, inside which are located a gate member with a passage opening and a closing surface, a seat, upper and lower supports of the axis of rotation and inclination of the gate member relative to the seat. Lower support is made in the form of a platform with a trunnion. Platform with a trunnion can only rotate around the axis of the trunnion. On the platform there is a rack-and-pinion transmission, which engages with the lower part of the gate member. Platform has guiding surfaces, contacting in a circle with the lower parts of the gate member, where through impact on the upper support of the gate member, due to the rack-and-pinion transmission, the gate member can be rolled on the guides of the platform. Centre of the gate member moves linearly, along the axis of the seat and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the trunnion, where the gate member is able to rotate together with the platform around the axis of the trunnion, without exiting rack and pinion, in such a way that when the closing surface is opposite the seat, by acting on the upper support of the gate member, it becomes possible to roll the gate member by pressing or removing the closing surface against the seat or from the seat. With th closing surface detached from the seat, due to the fact that the gate member is always in engagement with the platform, it becomes possible to impart a rotational movement of the upper support to rotate the gate member such that, so that the passage opening of the gate member is aligned coaxially to the seat. Due to the rack-and-pinion engagement, through the action on the upper support of the gate member, it becomes possible to eliminate the play that occurs during wear at points application of forces responsible for pressing the closing surface against the seat, also due to self-centering of the closing surface along the axis of the seat, it becomes possible to evenly distribute the pressing force of the closing surface to the seat, which overall provides a high degree of tightness when the flow is shut off during operation.
EFFECT: preventing free play arising from wearing; high degree of tightness when flow is shut off.
