FIELD: valve industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline valves and can be used with gate valves as a safety device at high pressures and temperatures. Device for protection of the middle cavity of the gate valve against excess pressure comprises a housing with an inner cavity, with inlet and outlet channels and channel of communication with middle cavity of gate valve and two spools located in internal cavity of body, containing means of aligning their position in inner cavity of body along axis of inlet and outlet channels, made with possibility of free movement in inner cavity of housing. Sealed self-sealing overlapping by one of the inlet channel gates with high pressure is provided by tight connection of the corresponding sealing surface of the slide valve and the sealing surface of the inlet channel, under the effect of higher pressure in the inlet channel and simultaneously from the action of the spring. Maximum force of the spring is guaranteed less than the possible pressure in the middle cavity of the gate valve. Arrangement of the other spool ensures communication of the channel of the middle cavity of the gate valve to the outlet channel of lower pressure due to that the maximum force of the spring is guaranteed less than the possible pressure in the middle cavity of the gate valve. Spool valves are not connected to each other and are capable of functioning independently of each other. Input channel always has higher pressure and output pressure is smaller. System is symmetrical. Inlet and outlet channels can be reversed.

EFFECT: application of the new design of the device for protection of the middle cavity of the gate valve against excess pressure will prevent occurrence of critical values of pressure in the middle cavity of the gate valve in the closed state.
