SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a measuring device for actuating an airbag system for mitigating an intrusion in case of a collision of the front corner of a motor vehicle with a displaced non-deformable obstacle. Airbag system for the vehicle comprises, on the outside of the front buffer, a flexible electrical resistive collision detection sensor signaling a collision of the front corner of the vehicle with a displaced non-deformable obstacle and ensuring deployment of the airbag installed on the front side member, which is intended for use in case of a collision with a non-deformable obstacle with a small displacement. Airbag is fixed near the far end of the front side member. After hitting the obstacle against the angle of the vehicle, the flexible electrical resistive collision detection sensor attached to the rear surface of the outer side of the front buffer generates a signal, then the controller processes the signal generated by the sensor and, if determining whether a predetermined level of severity of the collision has been reached, activates a unit of the airbag filling with gas by an electric drive. Airbag in the inflated state comes into contact with the displaced non-deformable obstacle generating a lateral force acting on the displaced non-deformable obstacle and moving the vehicle away from the obstacle, thus redirecting the impact energy by moving the vehicle in the transverse direction.
