FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a system for applying deformable model to anatomical structure in medical image. Computer-readable medium contains instructions for instructing the processor system to perform the method steps. Method for generating deformable model for segmenting an anatomical structure in medical image includes the steps for generating deformable model that comprises: the first surface mesh for being applied to the first surface layer of the wall; the second surface mesh for being applied on to the second surface layer of the wall; and an intermediate layer mesh for being applied in-between the first surface layer and the second surface layer. At least a part of the intermediate layer mesh comprises a mesh topology that matches the mesh topology for an anatomically matching part of the mesh selected from both surface meshes. Intermediate layer mesh is generated by duplicating the part of selected surface mesh to obtain said part of the intermediate layer mesh. In this case, deformable model is generated by specifying the correspondences between the original nodes of the selected surface mesh and the duplicated nodes of the intermediate layer mesh, thereby establishing a plurality of node pairs. Deformable model is generated by minimizing the energy function rejecting the unwanted positions of the meshes, with the energy conditions taking into account: a) deviation of edge lengths between the surface mesh and the intermediate layer mesh, b) spatial deviation of the duplicated nodes from the normal of the original nodes and c) growth of the intermediate layer mesh edges. Computer-readable medium contains model data specifying the deformable model. System for applying a deformable model on to anatomical structure in medical image contains: data warehouse containing model data specifying deformable model; and processing subsystem designed to apply the deformable model on to the anatomical structure in the medical image.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows to reduce the time from scanning to diagnosis.
