FIELD: image forming devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrography, in particular to methods and technical means of barometric survey of the bottom relief by determining the depths in a given water area. Method for determining the boundaries of dangerous sections of the seabed on navigational charts includes building and applying isobaths basing on the results of measurements on the navigational charts. In addition, segmentation of the cartographic mapping of the bottom relief into monotonous sections with known largest and smallest depths is performed together with measurements of the shortest distances from the axis of the vessel run to the dangerous isobaths from both sides of the vessel. Then, an assessment of the safety of the vessel passage near the spatial hazards is performed by building regression models of the dangerous isobaths.
EFFECT: technical result of the claimed invention is to improve the navigation safety of vessels by defining the boundaries of dangerous bottom areas on charts without using the depth interpolation.
