FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a flowmeter for a liquid or a gaseous medium. Flowmeter (23) for liquid and gaseous medium (3) comprises body (24) and measuring insert (25) inserted into the said body (24). Measuring insert (25) as a structural unit includes at least one first sound transducer for emitting the first sound signal via a measuring path, through which medium (3) flows during the operation, and the second sound transducer for receiving the first sound signal after passing through the measurement path, the measuring path, through which the medium flows during the operation when measuring insert (25) is inserted. Measuring path has measuring channel (7) for actual measurement comprising inlet (7a) of the measuring channel for the medium, an outlet of the measuring channel for medium (3) and at least one measuring channel wall (9, 10, 11), wherein measuring channel wall (9, 10, 11) at least partially surrounds the measuring path in the direction of flow (4), and body (24) has body wall (27). Narrowing (29) is provided in intermediate area (28) between wall (9, 10, 11) of the measuring channel and body wall (27). In narrowing (29) area there is remaining gap (31) between the measuring channel wall and body wall (27).

EFFECT: elimination of measurement errors, increasing the accuracy of measurements with the provision of the order of magnitude of the passive flow occurring in the pipeline system, which has no significance for the measurements.
