FIELD: personal and household items.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for preparing a beverage from a capsule containing beverage ingredients in a brewing unit. Beverage device (1) comprises upper sub-assembly (2), comprising brewing interface head (4) and lower sub-assembly (3), comprising capsule receiver (5) for being engaged by the brewing interface head (4) between a capsule handling position and a closure head position, wherein upper sub-assembly (2) is hinged on lower sub-assembly (3) to be pivotally movable between said two positions, and brewing interface head (4) comprises frame (7) and brewing interface member (8); said interface member (8) being arranged to be movable relative to frame (7) between a disengaging-to-capsule position and an engaging-to-capsule position, wherein device further comprises latch means (9), associated to brewing interface head (4) and capsule receiver (5), which are arranged for latching brewing interface head (4) to receiver (5) in the closure head position.
EFFECT: device can also be designed for centrifugal beverage extraction with an improved control of the alignment of the rotational parts of the brewing head with the capsule receiver.
