METHOD FOR COLLECTING BIOLOGICAL FLUID FROM A HOLLOW BODY Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B1/05 A61M25/00

Abstract RU 2647782 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and surgery. Biological fluid is sampled from hollow organ. Introduce endoscopic catheter up to 2.8 mm in diameter with a conductor with absorbent material into the endoscope channel into the lumen of the hollow organ. Before the introduction, the absorbent material at the distal end of the conductor is additionally fixed. Hermetic closure of the lumen of the catheter is provided by fixing the tip of sterile biologically inert material, the diameter of which corresponds to the internal diameter of the probe catheter. Within 5–10 seconds, the material is taken back and forth within the hollow organ directly in the investigated zone. As a sterile, biologically inert material, any of the selected materials are used: gelatin, impression dental material containing alginates, polypropylene, silicone, polyamide, polyurethane. Absorbent material with a sample and a conductor tip are fed back into the catheter. Catheter with sample is removed from endoscope.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the efficiency and safety of the fence by making it more accessible and technically feasible to obtain a better quality and informative sample of biological fluid without admixture of passing secret.
