USE OF A CATHETER TO CREATE AN ISOLATED ZONE IN A MAMMALIAN HOLLOW ORGAN (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61M25/10

Abstract RU 2783089 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, in particular to medical equipment used for the diagnosis and/or treatment of inflammatory, autoimmune, infectious, benign and/or malignant diseases occurring in the hollow organs of a mammal, in particular diseases of the pancreas, bile ducts, liver, gastrointestinal tract, as well as defects and injuries of the hollow mammalian organs, fistulas, strictures, aneurysmal and diverticular extensions, and/or the like. A catheter designed to create an isolated area in the hollow organ of a mammal contains an elongated body made with the possibility of its installation in the lumen of the hollow organ of a mammal and equipped with two balloons made with the possibility of inflating with the possibility of creating an isolated space of the hollow organ between them. A functional channel passes through the specified body with a functional hole made in the specified body between the specified cylinders. The functional channel provides the possibility of creating negative pressure in the specified isolated space with the possibility of taking a fluid or gaseous medium from it through a functional hole or the possibility of supplying a medical fluid or gaseous medium to the specified isolated space through a functional hole. Another channel passes through the specified body, equipped at opposite ends, respectively, with inlet and outlet openings made in the specified body outside its part limited by the specified cylinders. In accordance with the first version of the invention, the aforementioned catheter is used to diagnose or monitor the course of at least one disease selected from a group including: gastritis, pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular cancer, cholangitis, defects in the wall of hollow organs, autoimmune hepatitis, infectious hepatitis, aneurysmal or diverticular protrusion the walls of the hollow organ, strictures of hollow organs and neuromuscular disorders of the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, small and large intestine, bile ducts, urinary ducts and respiratory tract. In accordance with the second version of the invention, the aforementioned catheter is used to treat at least one disease selected from a group including: pancreatitis, cholangitis, gastrointestinal wall defects, vascular aneurysms, ureteral defects, respiratory tract defects, gastrointestinal bleeding, tracheal bleeding, bronchial bleeding, pulmonary bleeding, uterine bleeding.

EFFECT: preventing or excluding the possibility of the formation of stagnant and/or inflammatory processes in the hollow organ due, in particular, to the accumulation in this hollow organ of mucus and other biological contents specific to the said hollow organ, outside one of the inflated insulating cylinders.
