METHOD FOR SAMPLING BIOLOGICAL FLUID FROM SMALL INTESTINE THROUGH ENDOSCOPE CHANNEL Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B1/00

Abstract RU 2738007 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely surgery, anaesthesiology and resuscitation. In the patient's position on the left side, the intestinoscope under vision control through the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, proximal jejunum beyond the Tretiz's ligament. Intestinoscope channel is followed by an X-ray contrast catheter with a tightly closed radiopaque of the distal end with an X-ray contrast plug and a sterile detachable connector sealed on the proximal end. Distal end of the catheter is placed in the proximal jejunum at 15–30 cm distal to the Tretiz's ligament; a sterile physiologic saline is introduced into the catheter through the connector in an amount required to produce at least 30 ml of the biological fluid sample, under pressure, providing movement of the plug from the catheter into the lumen of jejunum, with subsequent aspiration of biological fluid through the catheter canal into a sterile container for collection and transportation of samples of microbiological material.

EFFECT: method provides a diagnostic and therapeutic complex associated with safe and fast production of high-quality, informative biological fluid sample from the small intestine in a volume required for high-accuracy 16S rRNA sequencing.
