FIELD: manufacturing technology; heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol delivery articles and their use. Method for controlling heating of an aerosol precursor arrangement of an electronic smoking article according to which power is directed form a power source to a heating device arranged to heat the aerosol precursor arrangement and commensurately initiate the heating time period with before the expiration of the heating time period, determining a sliding measurement window of the instantaneous actual power directed to the heating device, wherein each measurement of measurement window is defined as generation of voltage on the heating device and electric current through the heating device, calculating the simple sliding average power directed to the heating device, on the basis of the sliding window of instantaneous actual power measurement a simple sliding average power is compared with selected predetermined amount of power associated with the power source, and the power directed from the power source is adjusted in order to turn off or on the heating device with a periodic frequency in each case, when the simple sliding average power is correspondingly higher or lower than the selected predetermined power value.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the creation of a smoking article in which the heat produced by the electric power is used to create sensation of smoking a cigarette, cigar or pipe that is carried out without burning tobacco to any significant extent, without the need for a heat source acting on the basis of combustion and without required delivery of significant quantities of incomplete combustion and pyrolysis products.
