FIELD: aerosol delivery devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol delivery devices, such as smoking articles producing aerosol. An aerosol delivery device includes a power source, an aerosol generating component, a sensor configured to obtain atmospheric air pressure measurement values in the air flow path through at least one casing, and a switch connected to the power source and the aerosol generating component and located between them. The aerosol delivery device also includes a processing circuit that determines the difference between the atmospheric air pressure measurements and the reference atmospheric air pressure. Only when the difference equals at least the threshold value, the processing circuit outputs a signal to cause switchable cut-offs of the output voltage supplied from the power supply to the aerosol generating component to adjust the power supplied to the aerosol generating component to obtain a target power value that changes in accordance with the specified ratio between the specified difference and the target power value.

EFFECT: when the difference between the atmospheric air pressure measurements and the reference atmospheric air pressure equals at least the threshold value, the processing circuit outputs a signal to cause switchable cut-offs of the output voltage supplied from the power supply to the aerosol generating component to adjust the power supplied to the aerosol generating component to obtain a target power value that changes in accordance with the specified ratio between the specified difference and the target power value.
