The aerosol-forming element contains: a power source for supplying electrical energy to a smoking product, an identification device for the aerosol-forming element, an attribute of the aerosol-forming element and a control device. The identification device is made with the possibility of identifying the attribute of the aerosol-forming element and analyzing constituent components of the aerosol-forming element. The control device changes electrical energy supplied by the power source based on the analysis of the attribute of the aerosol-forming element to ensure the production of aerosol by the smoking product from the aerosol-forming element.

EFFECT: providing the protection against overheating and increase in the service life of the aerosol-forming device.
