Cover for holding and charging the electronic cigarette contains a battery; the main section containing a tube for receiving an electronic cigarette; a charging mechanism for an electronic cigarette located in said tube using a battery; and a cover attached to the main portion to be opened to accommodate the electronic cigarette in the tube and closing to retain the electronic cigarette in the tube; the cover is designed to detect the opening of the lid; activating the active mode in response to the specified definition; and transferring the cover from the active mode to the inactive mode for a predetermined period of time after the active mode is started and before closing the lid, while the total number of functionality that is implemented in the sleep mode is less than the total number of functionalities that are implemented in the active mode, so that the consumption of electricity in the inactive mode is less than the consumption of electricity in the active mode.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the creation of a reliable and convenient charging for the electronic cigarette.
