DEVICE FOR MODELING ENDOVASCULAR EMBOLIZATION IN VITRO Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2648009 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical technology and can be used to study the processes of endovascular embolization. Device for in vitro modeling of endovascular embolization with solutions that undergo phase separation directly during embolization and transforming into hard embolus includes at least two plates placed on the base, the upper and lower ones. One of the plates on the inside has a relief surface in the form of a system of channels imitating the capillary system of the operating field. Device has two inlet nozzles. One branch pipe is designed to supply water or a model medium to a system of channels under pressure simulating the flow of blood in the capillary system. Second branch pipe is intended for supplying an embolizing solution. Outlet pipe is designed to remove water or a model medium from the channel system. Upper plate is made of a transparent material. Lower plate is made of a material that ensures the sealing of the channel system when the plates are combined. Topology of the channels cut by the laser in the upper plate imitates the topology of the vascular bed, the rate of water supply/model fluid corresponds to the rate of capillary blood flow, connection of the upper and lower plates ensures the required tightness. Capillary system occupies an area equal to the size of the operating field.

EFFECT: technical result consists in the possibility of assessing the quality of embolization, depending on the blood flow velocity in the capillary system.
