FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: compensator (1) of reactive energy for three-phase network (4) having first phase (6), second phase (7) and third phase (8), contains set (24) of capacitors (C1, C2, C3), at least two electromechanical contactors (CT1, CT2) electrically connected to the electromechanical assembly (24) of capacitors (C1, C2, C3), each contactor (CT1, CT2) comprising at least one input power contact (18) and at least one output power contact (20), wherein electric current can pass between input and output power contacts (18, 20) in closed position of contactor (CT1, CT2), first contactor (CT1) being connectable to first phase (Ph1) and second contactor (CT2) being connectable to third phase (Ph3), voltage measuring means (33) between input and output power contacts (18, 20) of at least one electromechanical contactor (CT1, CT2) and electromechanical contactor control means (36, 38) (CT1, CT2) according to predetermined control law. Control law includes the closing of the corresponding electromechanical contactor (CT1, CT2) at a substantially zero voltage (UAC, UBD) between the input and output power contacts (18, 20) and the opening of corresponding electromechanical contactor (CT1, CT2) at substantially minimum value of capacitor energy or capacitors (C1, C2, C3) to which said contactor (CT1, CT2) is connected.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in reliability of contactors and increase in speed of reactive energy compensation.
