SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the method for producing body portion (2) of the capsule (1), to the method for producing the capsule, to the capsule and to the body portion (2) of the capsule (1). Method comprises the formation of body portion (2) from a polymeric material and subsequent treatment of one or more piercing zones (30) of body portion (2) to alter one or more material characteristics of the polymeric material of the piercing zone(s) relative to the material characteristics of the polymeric material of a remainder of body portion (2). Capsule (1) for the preparation of a beverage comprises body portion (2) comprising one or more piercing zones (30) intended to be pierced in use by one or more piercers (13) of a beverage preparation machine to provide one or more inlet apertures for feeding water under pressure into the interior of capsule (1). Body portion (2) is formed from a polymeric material. Polymeric material of the piercing zone(s) comprises a transformed structure which has been treated after formation of body portion (2) to alter one or more of its material characteristics.
EFFECT: technical result achieved with the use of this group of inventions consists in the possibility of changing the characteristics of the material of the piercing zones and controlling these characteristics by treating one or more zones of the body portion of the capsule.
