FIELD: package and storage.

SUBSTANCE: beverage capsule comprises cup-shaped holding body (2), which in turn comprises tubular side wall (5) and lower part (6) and inside which holding chamber (4) is formed, which contains a powdered food material; closing element (3) is attached to holding body (2) to close it. Lower part (6) comprises a cup-shaped first sheet made of a first material having puncture and tear resistance, which is less than the resistance of the second material forming tubular side wall (5), to piercing and tearing, and comprises central zone (9) extending transversely to the central axis and connecting wall (10) which is connected to central zone (9) and which comprises at least one component extending parallel to the central axis, connecting wall (10) being connected to tubular side wall (5) at first edge (7).

EFFECT: this invention may be applied both in the case in which the capsule contains substances intended to allow the beverage to be made after they have been practically completely dissolved in the hot water, and in the case in which the capsule contains powdered food substances intended to allow the beverage to be made by extraction (such as coffee powder).
