OPHTHALMOLOGICAL DEVICES WITH BUILT-IN METASURFACE ELEMENTS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61F9/00 G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2648856 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Ophthalmic device includes an insert device. Part of the surface on the insert device has metal elements forming metasurface. Metal elements are arranged in a pattern, the frequency of which is less than the distance equal to a targeted wavelength of light, and the metasurface is designed to change the phase characteristic of visible light passing through the ophthalmic device. Insert device may comprise: a dielectric layer; and a combination of immiscible fluids near the dielectric layer, where at least one of the immiscible fluids includes one or more of a metallic nanosphere or a metal nanorod. Another variant of the ophthalmic device includes at least a first group of metasurface elements arranged in a three-dimensional space, the interaction of which with the incident light creates a lens effect that changes the phase characteristic of visible light passing through the ophthalmic device.

EFFECT: use of this group of inventions will improve the human vision.
