SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an amino acid ester and maytansinol preparation process represented by the following formula (I)

Also described is an improved amino acid ester and maytansinol preparation process, in which the nucleophile is added to the reaction mixture after completion of the reaction between maytansinol and the amino acid N-carboxyanhydride, which reduces formation of the undesirable by-products and increases the final yield.
EFFECT: developed is a new maytansinol preparation method, consisting in the interaction of maytansinol with an amino acid N-carboxyanhydride (NCA) in the presence of a dehydrator.
