SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture and can be used in breeding, seed production, scientific work in assessing various field crops to a lack of moisture. In the method, seeds of cereal crops and buckwheat are germinated in a thermostat in rolls of filter paper. In this case, the mass of the germinal roots is counted after 7 days. Arithmetic of the results of determining the mass of the germinal roots are meant as the result of the analysis, in 4 replicates of 100 seeds in each. Comparison of the studied samples is carried out with a standard variety and subdivides them against it at a more drought-resistant, standard level and less drought-resistant in terms of the mass of germinal roots, namely, the higher the value of the root weight, the higher the drought resistance of the test samples.

EFFECT: method ensures the acceleration of a reliable estimate of drought resistance.
