FIELD: test technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sample for evaluating the cohesive strength of metal coatings and can be used in various engineering industries, where gas-thermal and gas-dynamic coating methods are used to evaluate the cohesive strength of powdered metal coatings. Metal substrate of the sample is made in the form of two hollow cylindrical symmetrical parts. Parts of the substrate are coaxially connected to each other by means of a centering sleeve with a clearance of 10–20 mcm cylindrical parts at the junction. Substrates have, on the outer generatrix, grooves in the form of grooves, and on the inner surfaces, grooves are made with a diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the centering sleeve, and the total length equal to the length of the sleeve. Internal surface of both parts of the substrate is threaded under the mounting of the shanks to fix the sample in a tensile testing machine. Coating is applied by a single uniform layer over the entire generatrix of thickness 0.02–1.0 mm with the filling of the external depressions, obtained by final finishing machining. In each of the two cylindrical symmetrical parts a cylindrical shank is fixed.
EFFECT: ability to assess the cohesive strength of gas-dynamic powder metal coatings and thereby improve the reliability and life of engineering products.
