FIELD: test.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a test technique and can be used to determine the adhesion strength of a polymer coating with a metal. Method of determining the adhesion strength of the adhesion of the polymer coating to the metal base includes the manufacture of samples of cylindrical shape, with subsequent gluing of a cylindrical sample of the metal of the protected product with the applied test coating and a sample made of steel, after which axial tensile tests are carried out. Time of passage of the medium through the previously prepared free samples of the test polymer coating is determined, the time of equilibrium sorption is set, along with subsequent application to the end surface of a specimen of a cylindrical shape of the metal of the protected product of a polymer coating with a thickness of 0.5–5 mm, then the sample with the applied coating is immersed at half the height in a cell with a chemically active medium, the volume of the solution in the tank is determined at the rate of 8 cm2 for every 1 cm2 submerged in the surface of the body, then in the cell set the temperature of the medium corresponding to the actual operating conditions of the product, and the exposure time of the polymer coating is set equal to or greater than the previously measured equilibrium sorption time to obtain dynamic data on the change in adhesive strength, then the coated cylindrical base is rinsed with water, dried by air drying for 2–4 hours, followed by degreasing with alcohol and gluing a cylindrical shape made of steel with a second base using epoxy based adhesive.

EFFECT: technical result is to obtain reliable data on the adhesion strength of the investigated polymer coating with a metal base, taking into account the influence of a chemically active medium and temperature.
