FIELD: test technology; aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ground tests of aircraft (AC) elements, namely, to the reproduction of thermal conditions of the head part (fairing) of a rocket under ground conditions. Method for thermal testing of metal frames of ceramic fairings is proposed, including the frame heating and temperature control. On the outer surface of the tested frame a ceramic clamp with a longitudinal cut made from the skirt of the ceramic shell of the fairing is mounted. On the inner surface of the clamp a sealant layer is applied reproducing the adhesive layer in the junction of the ceramic shell and the metal frame. Installation of the frame in the ceramic clamp is carried out by widening the longitudinal cut with a wedge. Frame is heated from its inner side with synchronous recording the change in the width of the longitudinal cut of the clamp. Mean radial expansion is calculated by the following formula: , where Δ – displacement measured in the section passing through the axis of the displacement sensor rod; R0 – initial radius of the tested frame; ΔC – thickness of the clamp; ΔH – height of the platform for installing the displacement sensor relative to the outer surface of the clamp; Δh – distance of the rod axis to the base of the displacement sensor.
EFFECT: decrease in the probability of occurrence of defective fairings in the process of their production.
