FIELD: test technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for reproducing the aerodynamic thermal effect on the fairing of an aircraft in terrestrial conditions. Disclosed is a method of thermal tests of ceramic fairings, which includes heating of outer surface according to a predetermined mode and temperature measurement. Diameter displacements in preset cross-sections are registered for articles from batch at heating synchronously with measurement of temperature of external and internal surfaces. At that, temperature mode is set by external surface temperature, and for the following items to be tested, in case of failure of thermocouples in feedback, thermal mode is set by the level of diametrical displacements, obtained from the test results of previous articles from the batch. At that, the whole batch test quality is evaluated by difference of minimum and maximum of all results of diametrical displacements measurement throughout the batch.

EFFECT: high accuracy of controlling thermal loading of ceramic shells of revolution by controlling indirect parameters which determine thermal loading, the measurement error of which is low.
