FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radar and may be used to measure the angular coordinates of targets in the course of a survey of space by a radar. Result is achieved due to the fact that two-dimensional angular packets of the detected signals are formed, three positions of the beam with the largest signal levels are extracted in the signal packet. Angular coordinates of the target are determined by a numerical solution of a system of nonlinear equations that describe the dependence of signal levels in these beam positions on the target's angular coordinates.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of the target angular coordinates measuring.
