FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nuclear engineering, in particular to equipment designed to protect personnel from ionizing radiation when carrying out transport-technological operations during refueling as part of refueling machines (RM) in nuclear reactors. Biological protection of RM includes interconnected hinged sections, consisting of separate identical volumetric elements butted to each other, where each element consists of interconnected parts made of sheet metal. Design uses a variety of locking connections to provide, in addition to welding, mechanical fastening of mating surfaces of elements and parts.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to eliminate the leakage of ionizing radiation at the joints of the mating surfaces of elements and parts.
