FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used with a surgical instrument. Effector includes the first jaw, the second jaw and the closing ring. Second jaw is rotatable with respect to the first jaw. Second jaw has a proximal end with a first inclined surface and a second inclined surface distally from the first inclined surface. Closing ring is connected to the second jaw to engage the first and second inclined surfaces of the second jaw. Closing ring moves from the proximal position to the distal position to interact the first inclined surface of the second jaw and then the second inclined surface of the second jaw. Camming interaction of the closing ring with the first and second inclined surfaces of the second jaw allows the second jaw to be rotated to the first jaw.
EFFECT: closing ring can also provide camming interaction to rotate the second jaw from the first jaw.
