FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of composite materials containing boron carbide and is intended for the manufacture of structural elements of items for protection against thermal neutrons. Composition contains novolak type phenol-formaldehyde resin in an amount of 20–28 wt%, hexamethylenetetramine in an amount of 1.8–2.8 wt%, and boron carbide is the remainder.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the labor input of the composition and improving its quality.
