SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the vehicle component protection systems. Vehicle catalytic converter protection system against theft or intervention includes the controller, which is installed in the vehicle, two electrodes, which are electrically connected to the controller and located adjacent to the catalytic converter. Controller monitors the capacitance between the electrodes in order to detect the movement of unauthorized persons and objects and filters the transients near the catalytic converter on the outside of the vehicle.
EFFECT: weight of the protection system and its cost are reduced.
