FIELD: chemical processes.

SUBSTANCE: method for controlling the oxidation of sulphides by oxidative leaching of sulfide-containing ore or concentrate in aqueous pulp in a multisection autoclave with oxygen-containing gas at a constant temperature maintained by withdrawing heat with cooling water, released during oxidation, provides the measurement and regulation of process parameters, assessment of the oxidation state of sulphides in the autoclave and its correction by the amount of heat, isolated during oxidation and transferred to cooling water in autoclave sections. Amount and proportion of heat released during oxidation and transferred to cooling water in autoclave sections is calculated per unit amount of sulfides, sulfur and/or iron in the sulphide-containing ore or concentrate. Degree of sulfides oxidation in the autoclave sections and the autoclave is generally corrected by changing at least one of the following process parameters – oxygen flow or distribution over the autoclave sections, pressure or temperature in the autoclave, the flow rate of the original pulp or the solid content in it.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve the efficiency and accuracy of controlling the degree of oxidation of sulphide sulfide-containing ore or concentrate in an autoclave.
