SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry. Low pressure casting apparatus comprises a casting core, a mold and a drying unit under reduced pressure for drying the core. Foundry rod is placed in the mold. Mold is closed and the core is dried under reduced pressure. After that, the casting cavity is filled with molten metal.
EFFECT: prevention of gas defects and shrinkage in castings is ensured.
