FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to a resorbable monofilament suture thread, a method for its production and a surgical canvas based on it. Said suture comprises a copolymer P-dioxanone and glycolide, in which the mole percent of the polymerized P-dioxanone is 90–94, and the mole percentage of the polymerized glycolide is 6-10, wherein the copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of 1.8–2.4 dl/g and is prepared using mono- and bifunctional polymerization initiators at a molar ratio of 40/60–60/40. Proposed yarn is characterized by a tensile strength of at least 552 MPa, a Young's modulus of less than 1,379 MPa and a retention of the tensile strength, at least 50 % at 3 weeks after implantation and at least 30 % at 4 weeks after implantation.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides surgical suture that has a profile of retaining strength at break in the medium term.
