SEGMENTED N-DIOXANONE-RICH COPOLYMERS OF P-DIOXANONE AND EPSILON-CAPROLACTONE FOR MEDICAL USE AND MEDICAL DEVICES MADE THEREFROM Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61L31/06 A61L17/10 C08L67/04

Abstract RU 2733383 C2

FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an absorbable copolymer with high content of p-dioxanone, and to an absorbable medical device made from an absorbable copolymer. Resorbing copolymer has an A—B—A structure, in which A is an end segment, B is a middle segment. End segments A are blocks of polymerised p-dioxanone. Middle segment B is a copolymer containing a block of a polymerised copolymer of p-dioxanone and epsilon caprolactone. Middle segment B is completely amorphous and contains from 60 mol % to 90 mol % of polymerised epsilon-caprolactone and from 10 mol % to 40  mol % of polymerised p-dioxanone. Total amount of polymerised p-dioxanone in the absorbable copolymer ranges from 80 mol % to 95 mol %. Absorbable medical device made from said copolymer is selected from a group comprising monofilaments, monofilament sutures, multifilament sutures, surgical nets, surgical canvases, films, self-locking sutures.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a high-molecular weight polycrystalline copolymer and enables to obtain an absorbable medical device with improved physical and mechanical properties.
