FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation of operational and technological properties of conductive structural materials and can be used to determine the anisotropy of their physical and mechanical characteristics, formed at the stages of manufacturing and operation of various articles operating under load. Essence: applying a consistent physical-technical effect to the test area of the conductive material and/or article and determining the difference of results of these effects. As a physical and technical effect, an electric current is used, the electric current is passed through the test object in opposite directions and the magnitude of the corresponding voltage drop at a given base is being determined, electrical resistivity of the material is calculated for the given base, and then, by the difference between the measurement results, the degree of anisotropy of the material between the current-carrying electrodes is being estimated.
EFFECT: technical result of the claimed solution is increased efficiency and reduced laboriousness of determining the anisotropy characteristics of conductive materials.
