SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna equipment. Method for forming an antenna pattern to match land for a geostationary communication satellite in orbit, the satellite having an antenna feed and a reconfigurable faceted reflector and an antenna feed for illuminating said reconfigurable faceted reflector, the method comprising: receiving data describing the desired coverage area, corresponding to land; determining, based on the orbital position of the satellite and the desired coverage area, corresponding to land, optimal positions for a plurality of flat reflector facets, to illuminate the desired coverage area, said plurality of reflector facets being connected to a plurality of adjusting mechanisms, wherein each adjusting mechanism has an actuator, for adjusting the positions of the plurality of reflector facets, and said plurality of adjusting mechanisms are mounted on a support structure; and adjusting, while the satellite is in orbit, using a plurality of adjusting mechanisms, by linearly moving the positions of said plurality of reflector facets to certain optimum positions for said plurality of reflector facets.
