FIELD: atomic power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering. Nuclear reactor contains an active zone, a thermal photoconverter (TPC), power generating modules (PGM), high-temperature heat pipes (HHP), fuel elements (FE), side reflector, control system, thermal insulation, cooling system, radiation protection and reactor core. PGM is housed inside the shell of a nuclear reactor. HHP consists of a solid body and a capillary structure located on its inner side surface. FE is located in the evaporation zone of HHP. Side reflector surrounds the active zone. Control system consists of a drive and an operating element. FE, HHP, TPC and radiation protection are located inside the PGM. TPC includes thermocouples in contact with the thermally conductive substrate.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of a nuclear reactor with direct energy conversion.
